Christmas time is here. It’s time to write to Santa about allll the improvements you want Microsoft to make to Windows Mobile. :)

Sprint, the United State’s third largest carrier, has spoken up about their 2010 roadmap. David Owens, a VP over at Sprint, stated that much of their timeline is based upon Microsoft’s. When will they actually deliver Windows Mobile 7? Not even the carriers know.

Microsoft has yet to announce the release date of WM7, but it’s obviously in high enough demand that we can be sure it is on its way.

What is going on here?  Project Pink?  It’s a codename for the new Windows Mobile team that Microsoft is thrusting full throttle.  Only a few minor details are known about project Pink.  In short, it involves the integration of the Zune platform with Windows Mobile 7, but like I said the details are shady.  It’s great news though to see Microsoft making innovated, albeit risky decisions.

Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, recently commented on the progress of Windows Mobile 7 at a Venture Capitalist summit in Silicon Valley.  In short, he’s not happy.  He admits Windows Mobile 7 is taking too long.

“Poor execution in Windows Mobile: “we’ve pumped in some new talent and said ‘This will not happen again’”

Ok, Steve, keep the promises coming.  Pull through though, don’t let the android destroy you.
